Before you click: practical limits
Decide the amount you are willing to lose before you follow any link on this site, and treat that amount as already spent the moment you start. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of making a judgement call while a game is in progress, when the temptation is always to keep going. If a session stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling like a way to recover money already lost, that is the moment to stop, not the moment to raise the amount. Chasing a loss only increases the size of the loss that eventually has to be accepted.
Keep the money you gamble with separate from money you need for anything else. Gambling with borrowed money, rent money or money set aside for bills turns a leisure activity into a source of harm regardless of the outcome of any single bet. Take breaks between sessions, and let some time pass before deciding whether to play again. If gambling is starting to affect your mood, your finances or the people around you, tell someone else early — a friend, a family member, or one of the organisations listed below — rather than waiting until the situation feels harder to explain.
Where the controls actually sit
This site is a set of static pages. It has no account, no login and no form a reader can fill in, so nothing published here can switch on a deposit cap, a loss cap, a reality check, a cooling-off period or self-exclusion, and nothing here can check whether one is already active. Controls of that kind belong to an account held with an operator. Every operator link on this site redirects to a third party, and from the moment you land there, that destination's own rules, checks and account settings are what apply — not anything on this page.
In the same way, nobody's age is checked on this site and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination you are redirected to. The eighteen-and-over restriction stated throughout this site, including on the front page, is a condition of use, not a check this site performs. No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages either, so nothing shown to you here is selected because of gambling behaviour you may have shown elsewhere — this site simply does not have that capability.
Independent sources of help: page location
Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent organisations that support people affected by gambling:
- BeGambleAware
- Gambling Therapy
- GamCare
These are the only links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when a reader follows any of them.
What this page does and does not do
This page can tell you where the help links sit and what this build has and has not been built to do. It cannot verify your age, run a support service, or promise a response of any kind, because none of that happens on this domain. It cannot start, stop or check a limit on your behalf, because limits live inside an account at the operator you are redirected to, not inside a static page. What it can do is repeat the practical steps above and point you toward the three organisations listed, in the same fixed positions they appear across every page of this site.
